scotland ancestry visa
I’m considering living in Scotland and need some feedback (I’ve never been). How are the teaching jobs there?
I’m considering moving to Europe with my son. I originally decided to move to Spain after earning my degree, however, I feel I should opt for an English-speaking country, since it will be difficult for him to learn a new language all over again. I currently study linguistics with a concentration in Spanish, but I speak and understand a decent amount of Portuguese, as well. I’m American (of mixed ancestry–Korean and mostly Irish from my father’s side, I think). Anyway, I don’t know yet about going to graduate school, but I’ll be finishing my Bachelor’s degree soon, so I’m thinking maybe I could teach at least High School. How difficult is it to obtain a work visa?
One more thing: What are your perspectives about Americans? Just curious. I always ask this of non-Americans.
Anyway, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chrisy Wilson
You’d be welcomed with open arms in Scotland! We’re a very friendly and hospitable race. Yes, there are some “not-so-nice” areas here – but that applies to EVERYWHERE, not just Scotland. I don’t know much about the teaching situation, but I would assume that you would have no problem finding employment, especially with your qualifications. Good luck to you and your wee boy!
EDIT: ANGEL: That’s a bit rich coming from you! Pot, kettle and black springs straight to mind! I’ve read a few of your posts and for some reason, you are VERY racist towards Scots. Maybe one did you wrong in the past – you don’t have to blame a whole bloody NATION!!
