Importing GED com files into a Genealogy site on a Mac Computer?
Am thinking to change to a Mac computer in the future and have the following queries. 1. Can I use research sites like ancestry . com. Find my Past or The Genealogist on a Mac? Also can I export my GED com files made on software on my PC i.e. Rootsmagic 3 to software on a Mac? On The Genealogist research site I have a tree already made. Would this open up when using the site on a Mac. Also Ancestry Co Uk. has this facility. This might seem a little naive but I am of the Senior age and am not 100% computer literate. Thank you in anticipation of helpful replies Charlie
Yes, you can use any website on a Mac, the same as you can on a PC.
As for “Rootsmagic3″, I assume that is software that runs under Windows. It won’t run on your Mac without Parallels (which lets you run Windows under OS X on an Intel Mac) or Boot Camp (which lets you install and boot Windows on your Mac, in which case there is no advantage in buying a Mac!)
