There are several ancestry based DNA sites out there but they are relatively expensive ($200 to $400). The DNA testing is different for your paternal and maternal lines. I’d take a look at the international Society of Genetic Genealogy for some background at www.isogg.org Another site at www.dnaancestryproject.com has some good background information. Some sites already have a data base of surnames like www.familytreedna.com. Do an Internet search on genealogy DNA and look at all your choices. I’m sure there are some less than ethical sites out there so be careful.
