But the guy who was retracing our Family History died few years ago.
He managed to find ancestors dating all the way down to the 14th century France (knights era).
My last name is Deloustal now, it was De l’Oustal in the 19th century…
Someone had to cut off the noble “De” part of it lol…

I live in France by the way, I’m french. My mother was born in Spain.
I was talking about my dad’s side.
I’ve had lots of brick walls and mysteries with mine. There were some who changed their names to prevent criminal accusations, adoptions, being in two places at the same time… I’ve even found old pictures of relatives in history books and on line! The guy at the far right here http://www.picturehistory.com/find/p/1526/mcms.html is my great-great grandfather, he was in the US Navy and my sons and father are a spitting image of him! My grandmother had this picture on her wall many years ago too!
As far as lineage though, Mostly Norwegian, Swedish and some English. Sure is a lot of fun, isn’t it!
