What ancestry were the Protestant Scots-Irish?
I mean are they celtic origins, Saxons, cuz i dnt get it if they were Celtics, shudnt they be Catholics?
Mostly presbyterian scots who moved to Ireland. They come from all over Scotland so are a mixture of Celt, German and Viking ancestry. There’s not much difference genetically between them and the catholic irish.
The thing though is not their ancestry but the fact that they feel politically closer to the UK than to the Republic of Ireland.
