How to gain ancestry visa/genealogy?
I want to get a an ancestry citizenship or whatever it’s called for Ireland. Supposedly if you have direct ancestry you can do so. My dilemma is a bit complicated. My great great grandmother is from ireland born and then moved to chile (south america). She has been deceased for some years now. During the whole pinochet war, she got rid of all of her documentation, there is no paper proof, and no one knows her maiden name anymore. Is there any other way to prove ancestry/genealogy in order to get this. Since none other are directly linked to this Ireland. If not are there other ways in order to get residency or somet type of visa to live in the UK (not tech. ireland but the UK)
There are a number of geneology web pages, type her married name in your browser and a geneology link should come in. If it doesn’t, type her married name, her first name, and ‘geneology’. If nothing comes out, remove her first name. If you get a message board for her married name, put in as many particulars as you know and say you are looking for her maiden name. Someone may know it.
It is hit and miss, but my family has hooked up with people in the family that way.
